I woke up at 3:30am local time. My whole internal body clock was absolutely screwed.
Obviously from the fact that I had just come back from China where I had a little bit of jet lag. Surprisingly my body adapted very well there and back. I only had one day where I really struggled.
When we were driving during this session, I felt like we were traveling through the hills in the Sound of Music or some ish.
The one thing that got me really excited during my monotonous drive was the little prairie dogs! When we had to pull over on the side of the road for our "leapfrog" stop, I could hear them barking at each other and then point them out, sitting on their little mounds.
While we drove through a gorgeous part of Colorado, Joel, who is the expert at dominating inclines and steep elevations, found himself at the beginning of the tallest incline of the entire marathon. This really showed me how crazy and what a beast he was!
This shift was relatively shorter, maybe around 6 hours, before we had another crew change.

When I did get into the RV, I ate a white peach that was shaped like a donut. It was awesome. This made it onto the blog because, sadly, it was the highlight of that RV shift.
