Finally making it into Marlyand, we discovered people were quite friendly. We were even pulled over by a woman who was curious about the race and asked to take a photo of Joel and showed a lot of support.
We went through Confederate Road which was fascinating with history and made me definitely want to go back to visit again.
We finally arrived at the last hotel and headed to the finish line. It was an awesome sensation and we even got to see Pippa Middleton and her brother James roll in soon after us! They were perfect as expected.

The next day we celebrated by eating crab cakes from a famous restaurant. Amazing. Then Brandon, Klint and I headed to a place to get lobster rolls. Also Amazing. And of course we finished off our food with some Yuengling beer.
The coolest part of the experience was to see how pure the sport was. Due to it being so underrated, the athletes are very supportive and sportsmanship is strong. There are not much politics nor business mentalities thrown into the mix. The abilities of their bodies have made me change my ideas about athletes in general. We were neck and neck with a German team the whole time and they were gracious opponents, who beat us. So friendly and lively, they socialized with us the banquet, even though they looked like they could break us over their legs.
The end was definitely bittersweet, glad that the hardships and tribulations were over, but sad that we would unlikely ever see these people again.
Another enlightening experience in the books.
