Let the games begin!
The beginning of the race started at noon. Prior to that, we headed down to the pier to register and prepare for the race. Considering my usual luck, we found that our support vehicle had still not been registered 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE RACE STARTED. We finally got it situated out and the intensity in the air was insane. When our crew rolled up, people got hyphy.

The crew was divided up into two teams, one with Kurt and one with Joel. And between those two teams, there were two members from each that went with two other members in the RV between shifts.
We relaxed in the RV for the first 6 hours and tried to catch some rest, but with it still being daylight, it was difficult.
Finally our turn, Steve, the crew chief, Brandon, the physical therapist and head of the medical crew, and I took our turn in the follow van that pursued Joel. I was crammed into the back of an Astro van and tried to provide the best care from there. Since it was only the beginning of the race, Joel didn't complain of any pain yet and I only gave massages to reduce any soreness and fatigue. It was very difficult for me to stay awake when it got to midnight. I was ecstatic when my team returned to the RV and I happily fell asleep the whole shift.
We found out also that Kurt, the other cyclist, had blown both tired and his brake line!
